Our Native Plant Seedling Project

While we prepare to send others out on their adventures abroad, the staff at World Endeavors have been working on a volunteer project of our own! In early April, we met with Ranger Tom – a representative of the Mississippi River and Recreational Area department of the National Park Service – to begin a project growing native Minnesota prairie plants from seed. We planted 4 types of prairie grass and 4 kinds of flowers which we hope to transplant along the Mississippi River bank in June. The Canada Wild Rye and Black Susan seedlings in particular are doing quite well and seem happy in their temporary home in our office’s basement.

Ranger Tom told us that watering from the bottom helps promote healthy root structure
